More Than
w&m ©2015 David M. Glasgow (ASCAP)
When I’m with you, I feel more than home:
more than safe, more than free,
more than just “away”
from all the things that trouble me.
There are words
that poets use to try to name the truth,
but they just point the way,
and when I try to say what’s in my heart, I—
I’m filled with so much more
than words could ever say,
so I open up my heart and let it sing:
oh yeah, let it sing.
And when I stop my tryin’,
when I give up on the words,
my soul starts flyin’,
when I’m with you.
When I’m with you, I feel more than known:
more than seen, more than heard,
more than any kind of love
described by any word.
There are words
that poets use to try to name the truth,
but they just point the way,
and when I try to say what’s in my heart I—
(choral vocalizing)
And when I stop my tryin’,
when I give up on the words,
my soul starts flyin’,
when I’m with you.
When I’m with you, I’m filled with so much more!
