Hope is a challenging emotion. The optimism it offers can be life-saving, but the uncertainty that hovers over it can be soul-crushing. The key, I think, is to keep listening for the tiny, bell-like voice of optimism that rings out above the noise. I wrote this one just before the 2020 elections, trying to give form to some of the wordless uncertainty that so many of us were feeling then. For a nice meditative triptych, try playing "In Limbo," "Knots," and "Hope" back-to-back-to-back.
