From 2012 through 2016, the Court Street Cabaret was always a highlight of my year. It was a chance for me to work with some of my favorite cast-mates from history, and with folks I don’t ordinarily get to share a stage with.
But no longer.
Now, starting with Open Stage Season 32, the annual Court Street Cabaret is a thing of the past.
Now? We have THREE Court Street Cabarets!
- On November 3 & 4, 2017, we’ll present “Court Street Cabaret: The Jukebox Edition.” A list of songs and a list of singers—and the audience decides who sings what! (And yes, that’s exactly as terrifying to the accompanist as it sounds like it would be!)
- On January 12 & 13, 2018, it’ll be “Court Street Cabaret: The Unsung Edition.” These are the songs that never reached the popularity we think they deserve. Come see whether you agree!
- And on May 11 & 12, 2018, we’ll offer “Court Street Cabaret: The Miscast Edition.” Based upon one of the most popular recurring sets in the annual CSC, this weekend will give our cast a chance to sing songs for which we could never realistically audition. New takes on old favorites is the name of this game!
Tickets for all three cabarets will be on sale soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to audition for any of the Court Street Cabarets (or any of the other wonderful projects on the agenda for Season 32), see this page on the Open Stage website.
